Congratulations! You are on your way to a fuller, richer, more rewarding relationship with your pet. If your companion is going to be in our care they will learn how to be well versed in skill sets needed to be all they can be in their new family. The rest will be up to you to maintain and manage. We will make it easy for them to learn these life skills ( impulse control, pay attention, inner-species communication, delayed gradification, etc) needed to make obedience a way of life. Molding consistent behavior, teach social graces and learning to trust and follow a credible leader is the way to happiness.

 

Your pet will not forget the time spent with us or the education that they have acquired. It is now your responsibility to set-up the proper structure and guidance at your home. Without this structure your pet may feel they no longer need to follow their new path opting for a more independent self- serving lifestyle. The choice is yours! 

 

There are considerable parallels between parenting a child and parenting a young companion pet. The skills you need to develop as a parent can be applied to parenting your pet. I encourage you to think more about raising and educating your new puppy and less about training specific behaviors or tricks. This perspective will give you a useful paradigm within which to consider any animal-related situation, whether the dog is a puppy new to your family or a rescued young adult that has been around for a while.

 

Thinking this way will allow you to make the most complex companion pet behavioral issues easier to understand and finding win-win solutions to common behavior problems more logical. The idea of parenting your pet can help you feel more natural when educating your dog. With the skills we teach you and your companion, you will find it easy to incorporate this approach to your lifestyle with simplicity and brilliance.

 

When your pet returns home from their stay with us you will want to be prepared to continue their education and manage their behavior development plan. You need to be informed of your pet stewardship responsibilities. Depending on the length of stay and the follow -up program decided, you will be taught how to continue, expand and solidify your companion’s temperament and education. As with educating a child you should truly give attention to who should be responsible for their education and the reinforcing of these lessons learnt.

Private Behavior Modification Course: 4 lessons $850  

Single Private Lesson/Consultation: $250
